April 1st. 90 minutes. Alex was a bit late, so I started with Dulce having practice with messages on the answering machine. Also spent time with the outlet shopping video. Next class: the airport pick up, some practice with should and the video about 127 hours. (maybe the allergies too).
April 15th. 90 minutes. 3rd session. The 127 hours video, practicing verbs as they saw the video. Talked about relationships and had some practice with the vocabulary related. Also the allergies video. Next class: helicopter mom, jobs in NY and asking for recommendations.
April 26th. 90 minutes 4th session. At the drugstore audio and the things found there. Recommendations audio and practice suggestions with it. Next class: chopper mom, buying in bulk, canucks and partying. The last one neeeds to be developed.
May 2nd. 90 minutes. 1st session. Paid for this new set of sessions. Canucks audio. Also the buying in bulk video and the terms used when partying. Dulce struggles but delivers. She needs easier exercises once in a while to get better.
Fri May 20th. 90 minutes. 3rd session. the movie rating system and the interview with Naomi Watts. New way to work this out, since they had the chance to see the script all the time.
Fri June 10th. 75 minutes. 2nd session. Subway very slw, we did the raised in Minn exercise. Listen in class 1st and then further practice.Also the exercise with statiwtics from gapminder. Dulce to send exercise by mail. Alex gave it to me in paper.
June 14th. 3rd session. Alejandro a bit late. Dulce talked about her new job at jugos del valle. Did the car free streets video (good activity). Also chapter 11 from carlin's video and finished the exercise about 'talk bout myself). previous class we did the ny trip from ESL podcast. Next class about janis joplin and maybe taking the bus and I do the hiring.
July 9th. 90 minutes. 1st session and payment. High school jobs went smooth as butter. Did the mickeyD video, but it's wise to send the script to them. Alejandro got a better understanding, so these exercises should be left for hw prior to looking at them in class.
July 16th. 90 minutes. 2nd session. Only dulce made it. We did the pine camping video, but she had a hard time understanding. She wrote a quick paragraph about it which was fairly well. Next class about the senior citizens watching videos and the bad habits.
July 23rd. 90 minutes. 3rd session. Did the "life in japan " exercise. They listened while reading. It's a rather simple exercise, but the pre-activity is to compare life in tokio with life in london with whawtever info they had in mind. They also compared those cities to Mexico City. Next class the heater exercise from L24 and again the summer camp from L19. We'll work in class with them.
Wed. July 27th. 90 mins. 4th Session. First the heater reading exercise. They read it, so we could spend 20 minutes with that exercise.The 2 bad habits videos. They found it complicated, because the treatment they talk about is kind of unusual. Next class the camping.

Aug 11th. 90 minutes. 2nd session. The food poisoning exercise and the "I do the hiring". Also the weather expressions. Did ok, forgot the audio converter so we didn't do any listenng in class. Next class: end of privacy and riding the rails.
Sept 3rd. 90 mins. 4th session. The video about rails and the one about jetlag. Next class the no privacy video and another one on their list. Alex not in class, he had to work.

Was difficult for them, a good idea is to revisit the exercise's context so ss find it easier to understand what happened to this guy from Yale. 9/11 exercise using what if. This worked out much better. They are supposed to send me an exampe using what if.
