Monday June, 7th. A 90 minute class. Lesson 1 practice 1,2 and 3. It was not difficult to them. We got along. I tried to monitor their level of english, somo of them undestand a lot so the class was not that challenging. They kind of like the activities.

fri june 25th. No class, Delfino was sick. He got into a new class at IPN, so he won't be able to continue with such class. Lucy will be assigned as a teacher for a couple of weeks or so.
Wed Aug 25th. Class shows they've improved. Brenda, Victor, Rogelio, Paul, Deheny, Raquel in class. L08 Pr1, Pr2 and Pr3 looking at chores. Need somtething to clean the board.
Fri Aug 27th. Brenda, Deheny late; Victor, Rogelio, Paul, Rachel, Armando and the other one (Lety or Susana). L8 Pr3 with How often. Also I'm all ears and follow the conversation. Warm up: Pete's train. Everybody shows interest, we had emphasis on intonation today.
Mon Aug 30th. 90 minutes. Brenda, Deheny, Andrés, Armando, Paul, Rachel, Sue and Vicor. Rogelio absent. Circle the answer, I'm all ears about the occupations, FT conversation using more occupations and finally the blogging around exercise. For this one I spent little time and had a quick practice about the busiest places in their house. Workrd out well because they could tell me a small story. Also the Casual Business Intro's exercise.
Wed Sep 1st. 90 minutes. Deheny, Armando late, Brenda, Andrés, Rachel, Sue in class. Paul and Victor absent. Left L8 far beyond for Hw. L8 quick review. Did the "what's going on here" audio as a warm up and used the "chores" pictures to answer such question. Worked out great. L9 intro. Further practice with frequency adverbs.
Mon Sep 6th. Deheny, Armando, Rachel, Sue and Rogelio in class only. L9Pr2 and Pr3. Started with written exercise page 35. Intro to past tense and past time expressions. Further practice with frequency adverbs.
Wed Sept 8th. Everybody early in class. Football audio 2nd part, circle the answer, follow the conv with other pictures. ESPN video asking them to tell me what they were doing (Present Continous). Went over the chores once more.
Wed Sep 15th. Armando was late. The rest were in class on time. L10 pr3: had some further practice with "seem to" which worked out nice. Also the T sound slideshow but dind't finish.
Mon Sep 20th. 90 minutes. L10 complete the conversation page 46 and further practice with it using other pictures. L10 extra activity #2 from begginning to end. Had no trouble answering the questions. And finally, some more time with the T-sound slideshow but still hasn't finished with it yet. Rogelio, Andres and Victor not in class.
Wed Sep 22nd. 90 minutes. Armando and Deheny absent, the rest in class. Sesame St dialogue from the "moustache episode". They understood quite well. Page 47 and 49 at the end of the class. Page 48 far beyond was done asking them to come up with the questions. Exercises missing from L10: page 50 and up except Page 51 and the T sound exercise. Good luck Astrid!
Fri Sept 24th. 90 minutes. I was late for 20 minutes as usual I got lost. I noticed I dont have the material for Lesson 10 so worked on the Far Beyond practice on page 55 we read it together and answer the true or false statements, we also worked on practice 5. The majority of the class struggled with the comprehension part of the lecture. Need to improve their pronunciation and conversational skills. It was a nice class. They all showed a nice attitude.
Mon Sept. 27th. 90 minutes. Raquel, Andres, Edwin, Rogelio, Victor, Susana and Armando in class. Worked on their pronunciation over the reading of Seville, also did activity on page 56 Types of work. Vocabulary was not too hard for them. They all did pretty good with the listening part but still struggle a little with the comprehension of my questions. Let them the audio of how to pronounce the letter T for homework. Class was nice.
Mon Oct 4th. 90 minutes. Raquel, Andres, Edwin, Rogelio, Victor, Susana, Brenda and Paul in class. L11 Pr1, Pr3 and Pr4. used pictures for Pr1 and Pr3, but Pr4 was just an intro to clothes, colors and materials.
Wed. Sept. 29th. 90 minutes. Armando and Edwin were absent. Checked their homework and practice their pronunciation of letter T also worked on the Far Beyond practice of page 52. Deheny struggles a lot in general with the class. Class was nice.
Fri. Oct. 1st. 90 minutes. Deheny and Brenda were absent actually Brenda was absent last class too. Worked on Lesson 10 Summary and started with Lesson 11. They received their material and left them an extra book. Worked on the conversation, answered the true or false statements, did practice 1 and practice 2. They worked in teams over the dialogue and other options of practice one they practiced their pronunciation by saying the dialogue between each other, they did pretty good. Class was really funny.
Fri Oct. 8th. 90 minutes. Deheny and Edwin absent. Worked on the Im all ears activity about flip flops and the extra activity about thibgs in a babys life. They are improving their listening and communication skills. class was fun. Asked them for homework to search some vocabulary about the extra activities.
Mon Oct. 11th. 90 minutes. Deheny, Edwin and Armando absent. Worked on the Far Beyond activity on page 11, the Im all ears activity Ways to pay and in the Lesson summary. They struggled a lot at the beginning with Ways to pay but at the end they did really good. Checked the vocabulary I asked for homework which the majority did and it was a good class. Susana is improving her conversation skills as well as Paul and Andres.
Wed. Oct 13th. 90 minutes. Paul and Armando absent. Started lesson 12 answered the true and false statements and worked on their pronunciation by asking them to say the dialogue between each other, they did great, they all are improving a lot in their pronunciation and cofindence for speaking even Rogelio. Also worked on practice 1 and Practice 2. Asked them for homework to create a todays special with an american dish. Class was nice.
Mon Oct 18th. 70 minutes. I was 20 minutes late. Victor, Andres, Brenda, Armando, Edwin, Susana and Rachel in class. Went over the exam and did the L12 pr3 exercise about acronyms. Also, the 20 questions exercise from page 22.
Wed. Oct. 20th. 60 minutes. Armando and Deheny absent. I was late for 20 minutes. Worked on the Im all ears activity no. one page 17 and answer the questions on page 18. They are improving their conversational skills but still struggle with the understanding of my questions.We started the Im all ears activity no.2.
Wed Oct 27th. 90 minutes. Deheny absent. Worked over Lesson 12 Summary, also started Lesson 13, answered the True or False statements and finished Practice 1. We practice their pronunciation and speaking with the dialogue (they ordered a sandwich) class was fun.
Fri Oct 22nd. 90 minutes. Deheny no longer works at APlisoft. L12 Pr 4 and some of the writing exercises from the book. The one on page 18 doesn't belong there. Did the song from Seal at the end of the class.
Mon Oct 25th. 90 minutes. Follow the conversation with other possibilities. The pumpernickel video which they enjoyed a lot. The were able to give the step by step recipe.
Mon Nov 8th. 90 minutes. Andres absent. Edwin late. The turkey audio and then the audio about lunch on page 32. As a complement and in order to practice ordering food, we looked at the menu from the NY restaurant with jewish food. Good cultural exercise indeed!
Wed Nov 10th. 90 minutes. The budget exercise from page 39. The expresso reading exercise for which they told me their favorite drinks. We also made the guacamole recipe exercise.
Fri Nov 12th. Page 35, the topic sentence exercise too which was a bit difficult to digest. The riding the subway podcast was our last activity. Interesting because they could tell me similarities with transportation in Mx City.
monday jan 3rd. Only Brenda in class. Last class paid, and we were asked to stop the classes until further notice. The exam for lessons 12,13 and 14 is pending.
March 1st. 90 minute class. Practice 3 and 4. We went over the "how to sell your house" vocabulary and watched the video. I thik this kind of videos are way too difficult to them.
Tue, May 31st. 90 mins. Worked on Lesson 17 summary and Lesson 18 conversation, they did really good. We finished with the lyrics of "Hey soul sister" by Train, we agreed on them bringing one song they want us to work with next class. Nice class as usual.
Tue. June 7th. 90 min. Worked on Practice 2, Far beyond activity on page 51 and 52. We worked on their pronunciation woth them too and they struggled a little on both but they did ok at the end. We finished with the song Swear it again from Westlife they struggled a lot with the listening. Nice class.
Thur. June 9th. 90 min. Worked on Practice 3 and 4 I asked them to give me other examples with the expressions on them they struggled with the pronunciation. We also worked on the Cultureme and phonetics on page 57. Finished with the lyrics of the westlife song they struggled a litle but not so much. Andres asked me to work with them on activities more related to each other work situtations. Class was a little low at the beginning, then it turned better.
