Mon May 10th. They had no chance to review material this time. Talked about the conference about remittances and their trips to Guatemala. Saw a bit of a video from Rick Steves about tips to travel.
Fri May 28th. About the things they do at work. Also about the characters from Peanuts. They didn't work on anything from the book this time, this week they ere too busy.
Fri Jun 25th. Talked about the helicopter mom. They hadn't seen the video, but we managed to work with it. Vegas, furniture and gym exercises still missing.
Thu Jul 1st. 90 minutes. Only Beto in class. Talked about the World Cup and mostly about his job with money transfers. Also about exercise (he goses swimming). Next class could be in two weeks, promised to take some time to prepare the material from L19.
Fri Jul 16th. 90 minute class. the radio commercial, Sue's trip to LA. Talked a bit about the helicopter mom. Next class: twitter, time off from work, and the coat check.
Tue Aug 3rd. Both in class. They haven't had much time to review material, so we did the NY street food slideshow in class. Talked about food in NY and in other parts in Mx. Talked about accents too. Spent less time talking about their week at work and more time with new material. Next class: time off from work, tips on tips and coat check.
Thu Sep 2nd. 90 minutes. Only Sue in class. Talked about her work and for that reason, did the "types of bank accounts" exercise from ESL podcast. Have no time to review their Hw.
Wed Oct 13th. 90 minutes. Talked about the chileans and spent a few minutes talking about the coat check in other places, especially in very cold places. Next class could be about the exercises from page 30 (ordering food in restaurants). They arrived late 'cause there was an accident on the highway.
Thu Nov 4th. 90 minutes. The video about making Sangria and talking about why Sue can't drink. Food was the main topic. Next class: your hometown and the hamburger video.
Thu Nov 11th. 90 minutes. Sue had to leave earlier. Saw the video from sesame street about keeping clean and when Sue left Beto and I saw the starbucks video which has vocabulary about the stock market. Nice clas as always.
Thu Nov 25th. 90 minutes. Chitchat about talents with kids (they wen to a concert with an orchestra with kids as the musicians. Also the Dana Carvey video at the end of the class.
Jan 21st. 90 minutes. Beto worked on exercises from L20, but since we were talking about kids in kinder garden, we saw the article about the Chinese mother. They liked it so we talked about it all the time.
Thu Feb 3rd. 90 minutes. Sue hasn't seen the article yet, I can send it to her once again. She has a new i-pod, so shuould be easier for her to listen to the audios and watch the videos. Amazing session talking about first jobs and the like. Also about movie theaters in the 70's. No time for any other activity. Nice class as always.
Feb 11th. 90 mins. Agreed to help Sue with the laptop to upload her files. saw the cars audio, the dragons video and the sneak preview audio too. Talked briefly about black swan which Beto didn't like at all.
Fri Feb 18th. 90 minutes. Sue forgot her laptop so we haven't loaded new material into her i-pod. It was about things they used to do. We were supposed to talk about the exercise about that topic from the book, but we ended up doing pr2 or 3 from the book. Also talked about accents in mexico and accents in other places.
