Fri Jan 21st. 90 minutes. hotel reservation from page 30 and the extra audio exercises (hotel reservation 110 and car rental both from ESL podcast). Good job with both of them, we also talked about his plans to go to BsAs.
Mon Jan 31st. The moving to another city exercise the whole class. spent time explaining and practcing "storage" and "lease". He talked about other moements when he has rented.
Wed Feb 2nd. Pop and Jazz music exercise. THe previous class we saw the vocabulary, this class we listened and read the script. Started going over the L16 vocabulary.
Feb 16th. 90 minutes. L17 Pr2 using should. He mentioned he had a meeting with someone who didn't speak spanish. Found it irritating not being able to understand what he was saying. But agrees that this takes time and that he might need to spend more time listening (he does, bout only once in a while).
Mon Feb 28th. 90 mins. more practice with must and had to so we came up with examples in past for this. We listened to the audio axercise again using the script.
Wed Mar 2nd. 90 mins. Saw the far beyond about microsoft again (we had seen it before) and had a better understanding of it because we went little by little. Great effort from his behalf.
Mon March 7th. The time clauses from page 46 done on a previous class. This class only the "take the message" audio with practice and reading the script at the end. We went over symptoms and the "what's the matter with" practice.
Thu March 10th. 90 minutes. The outlet shopping exercise. >His comprehension was good, we talked about bargains and his experience at such mall (he's been in that place coincidentally).
Thu March 17th. 90 minutes. L17 summary with adjectives and a few idiomatic expressions. This type of practice is productive with Roger, he gets an extra chance to practice using the new vocabulary, but it makes clear we need an extra effort to make this easier for students.
Thur April 28th. 90 minutes. Page 58 last class too. This class was about Pogo's radio. Worst class ever perhaps. My entire fault. Exercise is boring and outdated. He saved the class really.
Mon May 2nd. 60 minutes. The us government exercise. This was interesting for him, understood very well, engaged in conversation beautifully. He asked me how he's doing and with classes like this, I know he's improving one bit at a time. Constancy is the name of the game.
Fri May 6th. 90 minutes. Finished vocabulary from canucks exercise and listened to it. It was a challenge for him. It's an intermediate exercise, but he managed to understand. He's very competitive.
June 8th. 90 minutes. He was late 15 minutes. He was still busy when I arrived. Did the verbs from the list from L18 summary. Not finished yet, but had fun.
July 13th. 90 minutes. 1st we worked on the DWI audio exercise. Then we spent time talking about his experience with the language while in NY (checking in at the airport, getting a taxi, finding out how to get to the ball park by subway.
Mon Aug 1st. 90 minutes. Couldn't find the video about camping, so I did the las Vegas audio. Just the vocabulary, nothing else. And chit chat about Las Vegas.
Tue Aug 2nd. 90 minutes. Finished the las vegas exercise and the radio ad as well. Next class we could listen to the radio ad once more with the script.
Sept 7th. 90 mins. The vocabulaty for the heart griol restaurant exercise. Need to prepare mre examples for the vocabulary. Only listened once, and the script could be handy if we had it.
Sept 29th. 90 mins. The last restaurant from L20 reading exercise. That's the most complex, but he managed. Talking about restaurants is good fun with him.
