Finished L10 Page 50 with the oscars. Did the Green Gorilla (Page 49). Spent time with Page 51 describing people. Did Page 55 about Seville. Great describing people.

ResponderEliminarJul 2oth. 120 minutes. L13 final review the whole class. Something didn't work out well with it, because all she did was write definitions in Spanish.
ResponderEliminarJuly 21st. 120 mins at Sanborns. L14 intro. L14 Pr1. Did real well, explained to me how to get to places. Was very focused during the class.
ResponderEliminarJuly 24th. 80 mins. I was 15 minutes late, but she was comprehensive. (I had a fever, but never told her I didn't feel well). We did L14 Pr 2 and practice using "so". Also, Page 48 with thank you phrases. Had trouble understanding the examples (I don't know why). Maybe it's the audio, that particular audio from ETJ is not cristal clear. Did examples quite well and we finished the classs with the thank you note listening. This has to change so it becomes a reading ex3rcise rather than a listening one. Had trouble understanding the purpose of the letter, so comprehension questions are necessary here. Next class: she has to write a thank you note and we can continue with Page 49.

ResponderEliminarTue Aug 3rd. 90 mins. Did the supermarket checkout audio exercise. Good practice, understood the situation easily, gave good examples. She's doing great lately, good listening skills, talking more easily too.
ResponderEliminarSep 17th. 90 minutes. At starbucks. It showed that she had no practice for 5 weeks. She had trouble to understand audios and a little more trouble to communicate. We did the "leaving a message" exercise on page 57. I collected a few pictures dor reasons why you're away from the office. Left for HW the kids in Japan exercise, but eventually it can be done in class.
ResponderEliminarSep 18th. 90 minutes. At starbucks. L14 lesson summary which for some reason did OK this time (no translations at all). It made me think how important it is to go over such summary. I simply asked for examples and when necessary I gave examples so she could remember the right meaning. She agreed on taking classes with Astrid once in a while and see if they get along well.
ResponderEliminarSep 21st. 90 minutes. At starbucks. Kids in Japan exercise from L14. She did fine, but she wants to listen once more at home so she can tell us more about what happened and be able to answer the questions from the book. Next class: ready to start with L15. Good luck Astrid!!.
ResponderEliminarSept. 28th. 90 minutes. At her office. Worked on Lesson 15. True and False statements were covered as well as Practice one and two. We worked a little bit on her pronunciation and speaking she did pretty good, she has a good listening and understanding level. Class was nice.
ResponderEliminarSat Oct 2nd. 90 minutes. class about the how to sell your house video on page 7. She struggled to understand, but this exercise is meant to be done after the ss listened to it before class.
ResponderEliminarSept. 30th. At her Office worked on the Far Beyon activity of page 3 and in the watch out activity on page 7 (Howtosellyourhousevideo) She found the audio a little bit hard but did pretty good with the questions. class was nice.
ResponderEliminarTue Oct. 5th. 90 minutes. Worked on the vocabulary of the how to sell your house video she found it a little hard, also on practice 3,4 and 5. Asked her page 10 for homework. She didnt strugle with the practices. Nice class.
ResponderEliminarFri Oct 9th. 90 minutes. We did L15 pr5 with animal pictures and page 11, including the video about blockbuster. Excellent. She didn't hav any trouble to explain to me how she thought the blockbuster business model worked.
ResponderEliminarSat Oct 10th. 90 minutes. Page 4 doing the exercise about the apartment. Listened to it twice and managed to cme up with the answers and everything. She can still have further practice describing a house or aprtment. Other than that, she can do in class the video about doppelgangers which is an extra activity found at the blog.

ResponderEliminarTue Oct. 12th. 60 minutes. Worked on page 12 and page 13. On the Im all ears activity making a business call, she struggled a little bit with pronunciation and a little bit with the understanding of my questions about it but at the end she found it a little easier I asked her to plan the role play activity for homework so we can work on it next class. She is starting to talk with more confidence but still have work ro do.
