Thu Jul 8th. Class at risk, only Pepe and Michelle in class. She finished her exam, he was having practice with er sound and did L12 pr1. Not a great class, I'm being affected by the lack of interest from participants. They find it too much of a sacrifice to go to class. And they don't find it eseential to learn the language. They just don't.
Tue Jul 13th. Jazz and Angie not in class. Michelle very late. Finished the shoes exercise and conversation page 20. More dynamic class, but still people distracted and talkative.

Wed Jul 28th. I was 10 minutes late. Im all ears #9. Further practice with such audio writing on the blackboard. Got started with I'm all ears #2 (vocabulary). Joyce not in class.
Mon Aug 2nd. Pepe not in class, Isa started showing up again. I'm all ears#2 page 31. Did the listening exercise, and practiced with the expressions on the list. Not completely convinced this new schedule is the best option, but attendance is higher.
Tue Aug 3rd. Last class did the most expensive sandwich too. Pepe not in class today. Did a L13 Pr3 review for a while. Did the Tapa Tango video, they brought speakers to class (good thing) and talked about food in Spain. Did L13Pr1 using the new vocabulary.
thursday 5th. 60 minutes. Ss started to talk about the class. They say is too challenging. They have a lower level. Next class probably exam (touchstone)We got along.
aug 4th. 60 minutes. Tge turkey exercise from L13. Surprisingly difficult for some of them, especially Michelle and Erika. An "Special nglish exercise" at this point should be easy to understand, which proves how little they listen extra class.
Aug 16th. 60 minutes. L13 "So Do I" exercise from Page 43. Ingrid, Juan, Jaz and Isa in class. They know how to work with tenses, so the activity was OK. Lots of examples, even using pictures.
Aug 17th. 60 minutes. Jaz, Erika, Juan, Angie and Michelle in class. The coffee exercise from Page 38. Erika was lost, she seems to understand less and less.
Aug 18th. 60 minutes. Jaz, Erika, Angie and Michelle in class. The budget exercise from Page 39. Quantifiers (pounds, ounces) used for this activity. The came up with a menu with sandwiches. Jaz was lazy. Michelle struggled, but in the end she was in track. All that's missing from L13 is the "put it in wrtiting" exercise from page 34, the "talk about lunch" exercise from page 40 and the final lesson review.
Monday Aug 23th. First class. 60 minutes. Angie, Ingrid, Jazmin, Michelle and Joyce in class. Michelle and Jazmin were late. Lesson 14, The True or False statements and the completition of the dialogue in practice 1 were covered. Jazmin struggled at the beginning then she was in track, Michelle and Joyce found the class too hard. Everyone showed a possitive attitude but Joyce.
Tuesday Aug 24th. 60 minutes. Angie, Ingrid, Ericka and Michelle in class. Everyone was late but Ingrid. Lesson 14, other options from practice 1, Dialogue on practice 2 and an introduction to other options on practice 2 were covered. Angie struggled only at the beginning, but Ericka and Michelle struggled a lot with the activities until the end. Ingrid had to leave earlier. I noticed all of them need to practice more their pronunciation, also that their level of understanding is too different; Angie and Ingrid have a higher level than Michelle and Ericka by far. The attitude in general was a little lazy.
Wednesday Aug 25th. 60 minutes. Ericka, Ingrid, Jazmin, Michelle and Jose in class. Everyone was late but Ericka. Jose was really late so he was very lost as well, his attitude was a little low. A review of the last class was given. We filled out the dialogue on practice 2 and the other options activity was fully covered. Ericka and Michelle struggled less and both had a really good attitude. Only Michelle listened to the Audio, her attitude was really good she approached me at the end of the class and told me she didnt understand the audio just a few words which she wrote down, she asked me to speak slowly and I explained her the homework more in detail. The other students said that Karina didnt send the homework to everyone, so I explained it to them and asked it for tomorrow. Ingrid had to leave early again and it seems because of her schedule its going to be that way, she sent me an e mail telling me she doesnt have a computer at home so she cant listen to the audios and wants me to tell her what can we do about it. The class was very dynamic and fun.
Thursday Aug 26th. 60 minutes. I was late for 15 minutes as well as all the students. Angie, Ingrid, Michelle and Ericka in class. We worked on the homework which only Michelle did, Ericka only listened to the audio. We practiced on their pronunciation. Michelle and Ericka struggled a little but mainly Ericka. I asked for homework again this time BobandRobAskForInfoPart2. I agreed with Ingrid that I will put the audios on her cellphone. Class was a little slow.
Tue Aug. 31st. 60 minutes. Only Isabel took the class, worked on practice 4 and checked her questions about practice 3 We listened a little bit of the warm up I do speak English she struggles with listening and pronunciation also she says she needs more vocabulary and I agree she lacks a little bit of it.She shows lots of interest in learning and taking the class seriously. Students dont know precisely about the division of the class, the timing and group they are supposed to be at. I will send an e mail to Karina to ask her to let them know their schedules and assigned group.

Thur Aug. 2nd. 60 minutes. Mary Chuy, Ericka, Joyce and Michelle in class everyone was late but Mary Chuy. Worked on True and False statements, Practice one and other options. They struggled a little at the beginning but then got on track, we need to work more on their pronunciation. Class was nice as well as their attitude, Michelle asked me if she was going to stay in this basic level group because she finds it a little boring she prefers to be on the intermediate one I will send her an e mail telling her in she is supposed to be in this level but I think if she finds it too boring she better stay on the intermediate one.
Tue Sept 7. 60 minutes. Joyce and Ericka in class, Ericka was late. Worked on Lesson 1 practice 2 and half of 3 and vocabulary (things you find on your fridge). They are getting better in listening but they need to talk more. They are not finding activities too hard just the speaking part. Class was nice.
Tue Sept 7. I sent by e mail the homework for the two groups. Basic page 6 and Intermediate Audio Different ways of saying thank you extra activity 1A.
Wed Sept 8th. 60 minutes. Jazmin, Ingrid, Michelle and Isabel in class. They couldnt do the homework because they do not have the audios they said that there are no more audios of lesson 14 on their cds and the one I sent them by e mail was protected so they couldnt open it I sent them the audio to their cellphones. We worked on a quick review of practice 3 and 4 also worked on practice 5 they still have to send me the homework. Their attitude was possitive anyways.
Thu Sept 9th. 60 minutes. Joyce, Ericka and Mary Chuy in class. We worked on practice 4, used the pictures so they could speak more and practice their vocabulary they all did great.They all did the homework and did pretty well. I asked them page 7 for homework. They are starting to show a more possitive attitude they are starting to talk more fluidly but stll have work to do. Nice class.
Mon. Sept 13th. 60 minutes. Ingrid, Michelle, Isabel, and Angie in class. Everyone but Angie did the homework we checked it and worked on practice 6. I asked them to answer page 53 as homework. Class was a little dynamic and fun.
Tue. Sept 14th. 60 minutes. Mary Chuy, Joyce and Ericka in class. I started the class asking them what they will do on the 15th so they practice their conversational skills they were a little low but they are getting better, we did the homework together because they didnt do it and finished lesson 1 with the practice of phonetics and a quick review of the lesson summary on page 8. As an introduction for lesson 2 I showed them pictures of cities and countries so they know the difference between them. It was a nice class. They are having a better attitude for learning.
Mon. Sept 20th. 60 minutes. Only Angie in class. She didnt do the homework so I asked it for next class I will send an e mail to all the class as a remimnder. We worked on extra activity 1b and on giving directions appropiately on page 52. Class was a little low but she was really cooperative.
Tue. Sept 21st. 60 minutes Jazmin, Angie, Isabel, and Michelle in class. We did a quick review of giving directions appropiately, finished extra activiy 1b and checked the homework which only Angie did. They didnt show a good attitude and it was like if they never learned how to give directions they forgot many expressions. Told them it was my last class with them and they were not really happy about it (at least) It was a low class .
Wed. Sept 22nd. 60 minutes. Marichuy and Ericka in class. We started lesson 2. Practice 1 and the true or false statements covered. We worked in their conversational and writting skills as well as in their pronunciation, Marichuy did really good, Ericka struggles a lot with the speaking part also she doesnt understand very well when I make her questions. I assigned them the Im all ears activity on page 13 as homework. It was a nice class.
Thur. Sept 23th. 60 minutes. Marichuy and Ericka un class. Worked on practice 2, I also gave them a quick introduction to lesson 3. Ericka struggles still with the conprehension and speaking part but she is getting a little better and improved in her writting skills, Marichuy is improving a lot just need to work more in her pronunciation. They didnt do the homework, asked them to bring it for next class (page 13) and assigned them a new one the follow the conversation activity on page 15. Really dynamic class.
Thu. Sept 30th. Ericka, Marychuy, Jose and Juan in class. Worked on practice 3 and in page 15 also we checked their homework wich all of them did and left them an excercise on page 15 as homework. class was nice. Marychuy is improving a lot.
Tue. Oct. 5th. Ericka, Marychuy, Jose, Joyce and Laura in class. Checked the homework which only Jose did, worked on the im all ears extra activity (ETJShowgreetings) and in the Lesson Summary. Marychuy keeps improving Ericka a little. Class was really fun.
Thur Oct. 7th. 60 minutes. Marichuy, Jose, Joyce, Ericka and Laura in class. Worked on the True and False statements of Lesson 13, also in Practice 1, 2 and 3. They didnt find them too hard only Laura she struggles with the comprehension and doesnt want to speak in english for the most part. They didnt do the homework so asked them it again for next class. Jose and Marychuy are improving their conversational and understandung skills. Class was nice.
Update.Sept 27th:50 min class just with Ingrid listened the podcast abaut Supermarket and worked with it. Sept 29: 30 min class with Jazz & Isabel listened the podcast about Daycare. Oct 4th: nobody attended. Oct 6th: I couldn´t give class. Oct 11th: 45 min class with Jazz, Ingrid and Isabel, we did the Far beyond exercise. Oral skills OK for the three of them.
Tue Oct. 12th. 60 minutes. Worked on Practice 3 aqnd four. They found them a little hard but did really good at the end. Marychuy and Jose keep improving mostly Marychuy. They didnt do the homework and asked them a new one the Im all ears extra activity on page 20. I said it was my last class with them, and wish them luck with the new teacher they didnt took it positively but not too bad either. Class was good.
Thu Oct 21st. 60 minutes. Only Jose in class, so we practiced with auxiliaries. He has way too much trouble with that, which makes me think it's sometimes an issue even with people who had taken classes before.

They struggled a little at the beginning but then got on track, we need to work more on their pronunciation. Class was nice as well as their attitude, Michelle asked me if she was going to stay in this basic level group because she finds it a little boring she prefers to be on the intermediate one I will send her an e mail telling her in she is supposed to be in this level but I think if she finds it too boring she better stay on the intermediate one.

ResponderEliminarTue Sept 7. 60 minutes. Joyce and Ericka in class, Ericka was late. Worked on Lesson 1 practice 2 and half of 3 and vocabulary (things you find on your fridge). They are getting better in listening but they need to talk more. They are not finding activities too hard just the speaking part. Class was nice.

ResponderEliminarWed Sept 8th. 60 minutes. Jazmin, Ingrid, Michelle and Isabel in class. They couldnt do the homework because they do not have the audios they said that there are no more audios of lesson 14 on their cds and the one I sent them by e mail was protected so they couldnt open it I sent them the audio to their cellphones. We worked on a quick review of practice 3 and 4 also worked on practice 5 they still have to send me the homework. Their attitude was possitive anyways.

We worked on practice 4, used the pictures so they could speak more and practice their vocabulary they all did great.They all did the homework and did pretty well. I asked them page 7 for homework. They are starting to show a more possitive attitude they are starting to talk more fluidly but stll have work to do. Nice class.
ResponderEliminarMon. Sept 13th. 60 minutes. Ingrid, Michelle, Isabel, and Angie in class. Everyone but Angie did the homework we checked it and worked on practice 6. I asked them to answer page 53 as homework. Class was a little dynamic and fun.
ResponderEliminarTue. Sept 14th. 60 minutes. Mary Chuy, Joyce and Ericka in class. I started the class asking them what they will do on the 15th so they practice their conversational skills they were a little low but they are getting better, we did the homework together because they didnt do it and finished lesson 1 with the practice of phonetics and a quick review of the lesson summary on page 8. As an introduction for lesson 2 I showed them pictures of cities and countries so they know the difference between them. It was a nice class. They are having a better attitude for learning.

We worked on extra activity 1b and on giving directions appropiately on page 52. Class was a little low but she was really cooperative.

We did a quick review of giving directions appropiately, finished extra activiy 1b and checked the homework which only Angie did. They didnt show a good attitude and it was like if they never learned how to give directions they forgot many expressions. Told them it was my last class with them and they were not really happy about it (at least) It was a low class .

We worked in their conversational and writting skills as well as in their pronunciation, Marichuy did really good, Ericka struggles a lot with the speaking part also she doesnt understand very well when I make her questions. I assigned them the Im all ears activity on page 13 as homework. It was a nice class.

ResponderEliminarThur. Sept 23th. 60 minutes. Marichuy and Ericka un class. Worked on practice 2, I also gave them a quick introduction to lesson 3. Ericka struggles still with the conprehension and speaking part but she is getting a little better and improved in her writting skills, Marichuy is improving a lot just need to work more in her pronunciation. They didnt do the homework, asked them to bring it for next class (page 13) and assigned them a new one the follow the conversation activity on page 15. Really dynamic class.

They didnt find them too hard only Laura she struggles with the comprehension and doesnt want to speak in english for the most part. They didnt do the homework so asked them it again for next class. Jose and Marychuy are improving their conversational and understandung skills. Class was nice.
ResponderEliminarUpdate.Sept 27th:50 min class just with Ingrid listened the podcast abaut Supermarket and worked with it. Sept 29: 30 min class with Jazz & Isabel listened the podcast about Daycare. Oct 4th: nobody attended. Oct 6th: I couldn´t give class. Oct 11th: 45 min class with Jazz, Ingrid and Isabel, we did the Far beyond exercise. Oral skills OK for the three of them.
ResponderEliminarTue Oct. 12th. 60 minutes. Worked on Practice 3 aqnd four. They found them a little hard but did really good at the end. Marychuy and Jose keep improving mostly Marychuy. They didnt do the homework and asked them a new one the Im all ears extra activity on page 20. I said it was my last class with them, and wish them luck with the new teacher they didnt took it positively but not too bad either. Class was good.

ResponderEliminarThu Oct 21st. 60 minutes. Only Jose in class, so we practiced with auxiliaries. He has way too much trouble with that, which makes me think it's sometimes an issue even with people who had taken classes before.
