Wed May 26th. 90 mins. Bob and Rob about winter (things you need in case of bad weather). B&R about Spring (cherry blossoms, tornado alerts). Plans to work on her plan. Next class about if conditionals.
Thu May 27th. 60 mins. A-36 what if and ETJSHow23 also about conditionals. The usual what if I had lots of money. Interesting point of view as always. Next class finish the ETJSHow23 and start with the car free streets video.
Mon Jun 14th. Quick class to finish the flying in coach exercise. She was more focused and found it easier to follow what people said. The if conditionals still missing.
Wed Jun 23rd. 60 minutes. The reading exercise about parking, saw the new vocabulary. Started with if conditionals 1st form (present real situation). Next clas on Monday.
Tue Aug 24th. 60 minutes. L25 intro and reading exercise on page 9 and 10. This exercise worked out well. She knew how to read the pamphlet and all. For next class she was asked to listen "the Shuttle" exercise on page 4. You could also do the "getting around" exercise on page 4 too.
Thur Aug 26th. 60 minutes. I was late I wrote wrong the number of the building but I finally made it and Brenda understood. We worked in her homework since she didnt do it, she mentioned that she didnt do it because of time but also because she struggled with the audio, we listened to it together and answer the questions also we talked about it so she could practice her pronunciation, we agreed on working more in vocabulary since its something she has special interest in learning about. She struggles with listening mainly because she doesnt know the meaning of some words. We will work on practice 3 and its other options next class. ahe also wants to have more conversational activities.
Tue Aug 31st. 60 minutes. Did L25 pr1 and Pr2. I asked her to tell me a bit about the shuttle. We talked about the origin of such word. For next class can be the video about addictions or Pr 3 and 4. I guess we don't have many good pictures for Pr1 and Pr2. Need to work on that.
Tue, Sept 7th. 45 minutes. We only had 45 minutes class because she had to make a business call we only worked on practice 3 her homework was the Im all ears activity number three. Im not really happy with the schedule of this class. What I really enjoy is that she is improving her conversational skills.
Wed Sep 8th. 60 minutes. Chit chat in English, asked her how it is like to raise kids as further practice for what you saw the previous class. We got started with a different video about addictions. She still has in mind to go over the Hw assigned on the 7th. As for the addictions video, she plans to watch it during the week.
Tue Sept 14th. 60 minutes. She didnt do her homework so we worked on it, we also worked on the phrasal verb break down from the warm ups because she wanted to learn more about them. She makes lots of phone calls she gets really distracted with them and that makes the class and her improvement more low, nice class anyways.
Tue Oct 12th. 60 minutes. We just had 20 minutes of class because she had a meeting. Talked a little bit about the adictions video she still needs to work on her vocubalary. We also answered page 8, she did pretty good.
Tue Oct 26th. 60 minutes. Told her we have as a rule to have 90 minute sessions and that's why Astrid can't make it sometimes. We finished watchinf the video about addictions. We also saw the video about people giving their opinion about pornography and prostitution. As with most controversial topics, it was an interesting session.
Tue. Nov 9th. 90 minutes. Talked a little about the pornography and the celebrity lookalikes videos, also listened the warm up audio "Bring up" she seemed to really like to learn about phrasal verbs. We agreed to talk in class about basic expressions for traveling since she is going to Miami in 3 weeks.
Fri. May 24th. 90 min. Worked on the Bring up warmup again, what time is it and how to give the hour and finished with the activity about the airlines security advice on Lesson 25 she filled in the blanks with the vocabulary missing. We agreed to prepare her for her TOEFL test. Class was good.
Mon, May 30th. 90 mins. Worked on the Audio describe your hometown and the video about Prague. Talked about them and checked the vocabulary on them. She is improving but still need to work on her use of timing in verbs. Nice class.
Mon. June 6th. 90 min. Worked on the Twitter video and the audio who pays, talked about them and she did good but we need to work on pronunciation still and mainly in the timing on verbs. She asked urgently for her TOEFL test material. Nice class.
Fri. June 17th. We looked for information about the TOEIC test she wants to present, and worked with some of the exercises that the web page provides on line. We definetely need the book and I think she will not do bad. Nice class.
Fri. June 24th. 60 min. Started with the TOEIC material. Worked on the photograph description exercises. She is doing good actually I think we will need to work a little bit on those and give priority to her weaknesses like the writting exercises. Nice class.
Mon. June 27th. 90 min. Worked on the photograph description and on the reading comprehension exercises, on the last ones she struggled a bit so will work more on them. Nice class.
Fri. June 1st. She cancelled on time but agreed to meet on monday and see if we can move the class on friday to another day so she stop canceling. She also told me that they need Englishville to give them like certificates or some paper that can tell in which level each one of them are. Nice class.
Mon. July 4th. 60 min. We could only take an hour class because of our schedules, we worked on listening questions about conversations. She struggled a little but not so much at the end. We agreed to meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 2pm, not that wednesday because she was not going to go to work. Nice class.
